This policy covers the KiteReplay app (made by TruWind) and the website truwindkite.com. The short version: we don't collect any personal data.
The KiteReplay app
- No data collection. There are no accounts, analytics, advertising or tracking. We don't collect, sell or share any personal data.
- Your videos stay on your device. All analysis runs on your iPhone, iPad or Mac. Videos, results, and any location recorded while filming in the app are stored only on your device.
- Map data. To show the terrain where a video was filmed, the app downloads public map tiles: elevation from AWS Terrain Tiles, tree heights from Meta and the World Resources Institute's public canopy map, and imagery from Apple Maps. These requests tell those providers which map area is being viewed, as with any map app. We receive none of this.
- Permissions. The camera, location, motion and Photos permissions are used only on your device: to film, to orient your session to true north, and to open or save your videos.
- Feedback and crash reports leave your device only if you choose to send them (for example Settings > Send feedback), and are used only to fix problems.
This website
truwindkite.com is a static page. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking. Our hosting provider (Amazon Web Services) may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses and request times, for security and operations.
Children
We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date above.
